History:
Jek
Veroon was born 19 years before the Battle at Yavin, to wealthy shipbuilders on
Pantolomin. His parents, Tod Veroon and Mara Jade-Veroon, the owners of
Pantolomin Shipwrights, were actually Jedi in hiding. At an early age, Veroon
was sent to Agamar to train under a Jedi. In the meantime, his family was
brutally murdered and the Pantolomin Shipwrights was turned over to Biran
Holcher. He is true heir to the Pantolomin Shipwrights, though the Empire does
not admit this. His parents were smart enough to put some money into an account
for him, almost 38 million credits. Veroon invested most of this in stocks in
later years. His Jedi Master died when Jek was 17, so Jek went to train at the
Imperial Academy at Fornax. At 19, he was stationed on the Imperial Escort
Frigate Blue Fox, where he was promoted to Lt. and later Captain. He was then
transferred to the Imperial Star Destroyer Avenger, where he served until the
Battle at Hoth. Although he was shocked by the destruction of Alderaan, he did
not see it personally, and Jek thought it was a rumor placed by Rebels to cause
uprisings.
When he volunteered to pilot an AT-AT on Hoth, he saw the murder
of Rebels up close. An entire Rebel squad of soldiers had surrendered, and the
AT-ATs simply killed them. Jek now knew the horror of Imperial rule, and decided
to do something about it. After being placed in the Emperor's Elite Fighter
Wing, he hatched a plan to steal a TIE Defender for the Rebels. Unfortunately,
all TIE Defenders were being overhauled for the Battle at Endor, and Jek was
ordered to fly to the Death Star II in a TIE Advanced to represent Avenger
squadron. So, he took the TIE/A, managed to severely cripple the ISD Avenger and
several Corvettes, and destroyed 5 TIEs before heading to Sullust.
There, he
learned that there were no spare fighters to fly in the attack on the Death Star
II, so Jek volunteered for the Commando raid led by General Solo to Endor. After
Endor, he flew for Red squadron at Bakura, where he helped fly captured TIEs
down to Bakura from the Republic Fleet, then for Green (Hornet) squadron until
the Attack on Coruscant. It was there he came to own Ranat, his R7 unit. He was
on Page's Commandos for a short time, before Borleias. The incident on Gilgoth
lost him his commission in Hornet, and he was court-martialed. Only General
Solo's testimony of Jek;s loyalty and fighting skill allowed him to stay in the
NRSC. He was demoted to Flight Officer and went on Extended Leave for several
months. He then joined Defender squadron, where he was later promoted to
Squadron Commander. Here he also acquired the Emissary from former squadron
member Benja Yenera. He resigned for a short time along with Rogue and several
other squadrons, leading to Admiral Bryan being to deposed because of his
traitorous sentiments. He also saved Jacque 'Ladyj' Baruth from Imperial
Governor Hiron Zebadee, and recruited her into the New Republic. Ladyj had been
smuggling for her families Lomin Ale Empire, which had been nationalized by the
Empire, and Veroon was one of her customers. He has now entered into a
relationship with her.
He later joined the New Republic Commando's again, and
was promoted to Lieutenant General. He also acquired some scars from a BlackOps
mission he went on alone, into deep Imperial space flying a stolen TIE
Interceptor. He managed to pass himself as a Loyal Imperial Pilot by drawing
from his history in the Imperial Navy, and managed to topple a Warlord's entire
Empire in less than a standard month. He was promoted to Commodore and made Wing
Commanding Officer of Lightning Wing, though he continued to command Defender.
Unfortunately, he also made many enemies, including Antar Mudoon, Tiaron Xirt,
Grand Moff Rosenberg, and High Admiral Teradoc.
